Things I have learned in nutrition therapy so far:

    Acid reflux is rarely caused by too much stomach acid. It’s usually caused by too little.

  2. Stomach acid breaks down proteins.
  3. Bile from the liver, stored in the gall bladder, breaks down fat.
  4. I have too much stress in my life. Okay, I already knew that one. But the nutrition therapist reminded me that my body doesn’t make a distinction between being late for one of the kids’ appointments and being chased by a bear. And, since I’m stressed all of the time, my body is like, “OMG! there are bears EVERYWHERE!” So my new catch phrase is BEARS EVERYWHERE!
  5. I need to drink more water and learn to meditate.

In the interest of stress relief, we went to the beach this weekend and I got to see stuff like this:
